DEADLINES TO APPLY
FUNDING
The Creative People and Places fund 2022-25 will soon open. Applications are open to both existing and new Creative People and Places consortia in eligible places. Halton, Sefton and St Helens are eligible for this funding. Local organisations are encouraged to register their interest in the programme so connections can be made at application stage. Wandsworth Arts Fringe have extended their deadline for submissions. They are open to digital online or hybrid projects for 2021 as well as live in venues and outdoors in parks, community estates and the high street (subject to Government restrictions). Applications for The Bridport Prize are now open, and bursaries are being offered to offer free entry for underrepresented writers. The international creative writing prize has numerous categories, and winners can win up to £5k plus literary representation. More information about dates and how to apply here.

Graeae are offering support to Deaf and disabled artists who would like to attend online industry events/meetings but need access to do so, can help cover these costs! If you require BSL interpreters, captioners, notetakers or other access support please contact victoria@graeae.org.
No Deadline
The 4thWrite Short Story Prize, in association with The Guardian, is a competition open to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic writers. The winner will receive £1,000, a one-day publishing workshop at 4th Estate and publication of their story on the Guardian website. Entrants must place the title of the story at the beginning of the short story, but must NOT include their name anywhere on the document. RESOURCES/TRAINING
Movema are back with some more amazing free classes for all the family. The FREE World in a box online classes for families will commence on Thurs 1st April 2021, 4.30-5.30pm. To book your space follow the link here.
The fab people at Uncultured are running two FREE workshops aimed at producers. Dates for the workshops are as follows: Thursday 15th April, 10am-1pm and Wednesday 5th May, 10am-1pm. For more information and to book a space follow the link here.
The Irish Theatre Institute have announced their summer programme of artist support. This includes seminars, workshops and masterclasses. Their first information session is Are You Thinking of Setting Up a Company?, led by Claire O’Neill, of THISISPOPBABY on the 24th March. MACFEST - Muslim Arts and Culture Festival, is a ground-breaking, award-winning festival hosted across Greater Manchester and the North West - and across the world! It celebrates art, literature, music, history, culture, photography, cuisine, children, youth and women and the heritage of the Muslim diaspora. Applications are open for The Everyman and Playhouse's February-May monthly script surgeries. These are 30 minute one-to-one appointments with freelance dramaturg and Paperwork’s Co-Artistic Director, Hayley Greggs. Names will be drawn at random and meetings will be allocated via email. Paperwork Theatre have announced their next series of Playdates including workshops and a masterclass on funding and theatre making. The sessions are free and take place on Zoom. Check out the full schedule.

Action transport Theatre run weekly sessions for Young Writers between the age of 13-17. They are FREE to attend. Those with no previous experience can attend, they just need to have a keen interest in writing. You can find more information here.

The British Association for Performing Arts Medicine has a range of services to help support the medical needs of those in the performing arts. From free clinics, information resources and a practitioner directory, they are a good resource if you may be struggling with any health situations.

The Film and TV Charity have a 24 hour helpline and chat service available to anyone who is struggling at this time. Their trained team can provide help and advice about legal queries, mental health and financial advice.

The Actors’ Children’s Trust is a charity set to help those who are both actors and parents. Supplying grants to cover such expenses as childcare, support within education and to allow parents to visit their children more frequently when working long distant jobs or tours. Student Space is a FREE confidential telephone support service available from 3pm to 12am every day. If you are a student you will be able to speak to a trained volunteer about any issues that are causing you concern and get help to be able to move forward. The number to call is 0808 189 5260. Young Minds offer a free messaging service for young people. They also have a parents helpline available.

Food Banks and Places to Donate
The Liverpool Independent Delivery Service (LIDS) have a place you can directly give monetary donation to help with their programmes in collaboration with Red Neighbours.

Theatre
Acting For Others is a consortium of 14 member charities set up to help provide financial and emotional support to professionals within the theatre.
Get into Theatre is a one stop shop of ways into a career in theatre. They have sections on training, experience and funding.
With information on courses and funding, this website is a useful resource whether you are a newbie to it all, or an experienced professional looking for further development.
Backstage Front of House
If you work backstage or front of house
and are struggling right now then The Theatrical Guild might be a good place to look, they have set up a great resource for theatre workers at any stage of their career. It includes help with finances, funding, counselling and training. You can apply for help here, and if you aren't eligible, they will pass you onto an organisation that can help.
Playwrights and Writers
The Peggy Ramsay foundation is a charity set up to help give theatre writers the space and time to write. If you have had a play professionally produced, you can qualify for support.

The Society of Authors has set up the Authors' Emergency fund.
Open to all professional authors who are resident in the UK, including writers, illustrators, literary translators, scriptwriters, poets, journalists and others. Note: those who have had ACE emergency response fund are ineligible for this grant. Find out how to apply here.
Education
Education Support as a charity who help provide effective and relevant support to all of those working in the education sector today.
They currently have grants to help those who are either working or retired from the education sector. There are a few criteria involved in applying, so we recommend reading the outline of it all here.
Various
The Responsa Foundation curates contemporary art projects exploring our intolerance to others. They support projects by either inviting artists to partake in projects, or funding proposals submitted by artists.
The Foundation's objective is, 'promote the belief that the history of intolerance repeats itself. By producing art that people engage with, we can find ways of exploring this difficult subject matter together and get it out there.'

ArtCry is a new fund supporting urgent artistic responses to current social and political events. If you are an artist who makes political work or is interested in making social and politically aware work, you can find more information about the fund here.
Black Artists
Creative Debuts have established the Black Artists Grant, which is on a rolling system so there is no deadline. Once a month £1500 will be given to black artists in the UK with each artist receiving £500. If you want to put yourself forward for a grant, you can find out more about how to do that here.
Music Industry
Music Support is a charity who offer support and resources for those within any area of the UK music industry suffering from mental, emotional and behavioural health disorders. Find out more.
The Association of Independent Music has opened a crisis fund for music contractors and freelance workers in the independent music industry, whose source of income has been severed without warning due to lost work in April and May as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

D/deaf and disabled Artists
Graeae are offering free support to Deaf and disabled freelancers thanks to support from Arts Council England and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Support includes: access support for zoom meetings, purchase or loan of technology, help getting projects off the ground, and help with personal finance applications. More info here.
RESOURCES AND TRAINING
The Egg Assembly is an online tool for young people between the ages of 8-25, to be able to join and develop their creative practice. It is FREE to join and has a range of courses and workshops. Some are free and some range in price, but assistance can be provided if this is a barrier. It's also a chance to connect with other likeminded young creatives and develop skills and get creative. The Culture Diary is a free worldwide calendar of UK culture uploaded by over 14,000 UK organisations covering every art form. Without Walls have commissioned a guide to promote good practice amongst festivals and events that are involved in the outdoor arts network. Devised by FESTIVAL.ORG, led by Alex Covell in her role as the Without Walls Access Advisor. This guide outlines how Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF) plans and delivers access provision across all of these various contexts and locations. The guide is also intended to complement other existing resources such as the ISAN (now Outdoor Arts UK) Access Toolkit. You can download the guide here.

Action Transport Theatre are now running their youth drama classes on zoom. They have their Droplets group (aged 7-11 yrs) and Drama drop in (12 - 17 yrs).

Have an outdoor show ready to book? Outdoor Arts UK have created an online directory for shows that are able to be performed in the current climate accounting for social distancing and safety measures for both artists and audiences. It’s a straightforward form to fill in, which you can do here.
Open Hire is a new initiative set up by Josh Roche and Derek Bond. It is about opening up the approach of hiring freelancers, and making it a more fair and transparent process.
It is asking theatres to sign up to the Open Hire guidelines, and make this a new way of working.
